Presented by The Skillman Foundation and The Campaign for Black Male Achievement
In Their Words offers a look into the lives of several young men of color in Detroit, and introduces five grassroots teams that are creating pathways to support their talents and aspirations. These five teams are finalists of the My Brother’s Keeper Detroit Innovation Challenge, a $500,000 competition that sought out and lifted up the best community ideas to connect black and brown boys to opportunity in Detroit. Teams used the fundamentals of design thinking to bring their ideas to life and test their impact in the community.
Note: this exhibition is open from September 14 – October 14.
Gallery hours: Mondays – Saturdays 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
