Charles specializes in cultural policy developing programs, funding streams, and services for individuals, non-profit organizations, and businesses within the creative industries for over sixteen years (US/UK). Currently she serves as director of creative industries for Creative Many Michigan, where she directs its programs providing the knowledge, funding, networks and advocacy needed to empower the practices of artists, designers and designer-makers within the state. She is also co-director of the hyrbid design studio, rootoftwo, which she founded in 1998 with John Marshall.

Karl Daubmann is an architect, designer, and educator with a research interest in technology. He is Dean of the College of Architecture and Design at LTU and principal of DAUB (design, architecture, urbanism, building).
Amy is currently serving as the Dean of Cranbrook Academy of Art. Prior to coming to Cranbrook, she was a Professor and Dean of the College of Architecture and Design at Lawrence Technological University (LTU), where she also acted as Executive Director of LTU’s Detroit Center for Design and Technology (DCDT). Deines is a professional designer with experience in both the public and private sectors, specializing in architecture, graphic design, and urban design.

Donnelly holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Detroit Mercy and serves on the boards of several Detroit nonprofits. He believes that his most important role is to design meaningful relationships and opportunities that result in sustainable futures for people and place.

Kimberly C. Driggins is currently the Director of Strategic Planning in the City of Detroit’s Planning and Development Department. In this capacity, she is responsible for citywide planning initiatives in the following areas: comprehensive planning, open space, historic preservation, mobility, economic development strategy, and creative placemaking. In addition, she is the Mayor’s representative for arts and culture for the City of Detroit.

She is also the Founding Principal at DiaMonte Design LLC a firm specializing in design and sustainability. In addition, Susan teaches undergraduate design studio and design history courses at Eastern Michigan University.

In addition to design practice, Dan contributes to research publications, global urbanization trend analysis, and academic instruction.
Karen has 15+ years in Environments, Live Event, Theatre and Opera industries as a designer, artist and creative visionary. She returned to the Detroit area 2.5 years ago after spending 10 years in New York as a Professor and Designer, has designed throughout the US and has had work featured in locations in Canada, Beijing, Shanghai and Santiago, Chile.

Shannon is the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at College for Creative Studies (CCS). After spending more than a decade at CCS, Shannon has assumed a critical role at CCS managing collaborative partnerships with business leaders, foundations, government entities and community-based organizations to develop meaningful interactions for students, faculty and staff locally in Detroit, nationally and globally.

Sarida Scott has served as the Executive Director for CDAD since September 2012 and has worked in the community development sector and local government, combined, for more than fifteen years. Sarida received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley and her B.S. in Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Anya Sirota is Founding Principal of Akoaki, a Detroit-based architecture and design studio, and an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning.

Professor Wittig has served as Dean of the School of Architecture at University of Detroit Mercy since 2011, overseeing all academic programs as well as the Detroit Collaborative Design Center. He is currently serving as President of the Michigan Chapter of the American Institute of Architects as well as several other boards including the Detroit City of Design Stewardship Board.
Kaija is the founding partner of Laavu, a Detroit-based architectural design studio rooted in city-building. Her work is grounded in building culturally based neighborhoods with strong identities, respect for the past, and innovative ideas for the future, all through a framework of quality design.
Elizabeth is a passionate Detroit community member who works to connect and engage Lear + Detroit. As a curator for the Innovation Center, she is highly motivated on driving Lear’s marking efforts through collaboration, design, branding, innovation and mentorship. Elizabeth received her BA in Digital Media Studies from the University of Detroit Mercy.
